Deputy Minister of Industry, Mining and Commerce and Managing Director of the Small Industries and Industrial Estates Organization of Iran: Despite the increasing costs of the organization in providing infrastructure, the increase in the rate of land acquisition rights has been attributed to investors in small industrial towns.

Mohsen Salehi-nia added: Some of the costs associated with industrial settlements come from national and provincial development resources and credits and another from land transfer.

He added: Although the costs associated with construction operations have increased in the industrial cities of the country, the rate of land acquisition in the cities has not increased proportionally to the costs.

He also said that the minister's emphasis is not to increase the cost of infrastructure land acquisition in industrial estates to the rate of royalty.

Salehi-Nia added that efforts have been made to save on costs and finance and provincial funds and to improve the way infrastructure projects are implemented in settlements, reducing the costs of producers and preventing them from being pressured.

There are now nine hundred and ninety-four industrial towns and areas in the country, of which there are five hundred and seventy-one industrial towns, four hundred and twenty-three industrial districts, and forty-four thousand eight hundred and ninety-nine industrial units and more. Of the 3,000 units of workshops operating in industrial towns and areas, there are eighty-eighty-five thousand.
