The head of the Asia-Pacific Neighborhood Markets Office of the Trade Development Organization of Iran announced the holding of the third round of negotiations on the Iran-Malaysia Preferential Trade Agreement in the form of a video conference between the Malaysian and Iranian delegations.

According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Anvar Kamrani said: "In this meeting, which was attended by representatives of relevant executive bodies, including the Vice President for Legal Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Customs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the parties discussed the rules of origin, how to prepare proposed lists." They exchanged preferences, set the date for the exchange of lists, and negotiated the original text of the agreement.

He added: "In this meeting, it was decided that the lists proposed by the two sides should be prepared and exchanged based on the national tariffs of the opposite country until October 15, 2020."

The head of the Asia-Pacific Neighborhood Markets Office of the Trade Development Organization of Iran continued: "It is expected that the agreement on the commodity lists will provide a preferential trade agreement between the two friendly countries of Iran and Malaysia, which will increase trade between the two countries."
