Head of Qom Industry, Mining and Trade Organization: According to the strategy set in the year of production leap, 147 thousand tons of materials and mineral industries will be exported from Qom to international markets.

According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Mahmoud Sijani stated: The export value of these products is more than 112 million dollars and has an effective role in the realization of the province's trade development plans.

He added: Qom has many capacities in the field of mining, which facilitating favorable exploitation conditions can bring a lot of income for the province.

He continued: "In this regard, the strategy of Qom Industry, Mining and Trade Organization is to support the exploiters in this field to activate more mines and also to identify the province's mining capacities in different parts of the province with the help of specialized organizations such as Imidro."

Sijani said: development and completion of gold, copper and iron exploration in the province, ‌ establishment of processing units next to mines and productivity promotion and activation of small and stagnant mines, ‌ including programs to achieve production leap and strengthen the added value of Qom province in this It is an important economic area.

He stated: Payment of facilities for the modernization of machinery used in the mines and mineral processing units of the province is also one of the programs of the Samat Qom Organization to improve the quantity and quality of this sector.

Currently, 98 mines are active in the province with an investment of more than 1,065 billion rials and job creation for 1,294 people.

There are 2% of mines in the whole country in Qom and this issue shows the need to pay more attention to the capacities of this area to increase the income level of the province; In this regard, the strategy of Qom Industry, Mining and Trade Organization is to prevent the sale of crude minerals to be processed in order to create more economic added value in the mining sector of the province by processing them.

The most important known deposits of the province include metal mines (lead, zinc, copper, manganese), non-metallic mines (kaolin, barite, salt and sodium sulfate) and mines of raw materials for construction materials (decorative stones, marble, granite, carcasses, limestone and Gypsum) that by using new projects and optimal use of these minerals can generate income-generating businesses in the field of mining industry in the province.
