Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Industries of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Industry, Mining and Trade Organization: 15 mines in the province will be rehabilitated this year. These mines include decorative stone, carcass stone and dolomite, which will be handed over to qualified investors through auctions.

According to the International Iranian Stone Exhibition, Mehrdad Ghasemi emphasized: to reactivate this number of mines in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, 1,200 billion rials will be invested and by exploiting these mines, at least 105 people will be employed in the province.

He mentioned that regenerative mines include two groups and reminded: one group of inactive mines that have exploitation licenses and the other group of mines without exploitation licenses that will be handed over through auctions.

Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Industries of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari Industry, Mining and Trade Organization said: Last year, 5 million and 200 thousand tons of various minerals were extracted in this province.

Ghasemi emphasized: At present, 107 mines with exploitation licenses in the province are active and the definite reserves of these mines are estimated at about 890 million tons.

He added: "There are eight types of minerals in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari, including decorative stone of the building, raw materials of cement, gypsum, sand and silica, refractory soil and dolomite."

Ghasemi stated: The government salaries of the mines at the national and provincial levels have increased sevenfold, and after receiving it and depositing it in the treasury of the whole country, 15% will be allocated and spent for health, treatment and development operations in the mining areas.

He reminded that 12% of the government salary received from the mines will be allocated and spent in order to rehabilitate the forests and natural resources adjacent to the mines.

Ghasemi stated: Last year, 38 billion rials were received from the exploiters of Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari mines for government salaries related to the extraction of 5 million and 200 thousand tons of minerals in the province, which has increased by 25% compared to the same period in 1398.

According to this report, 125 abandoned mines have been identified in Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari.
